Large Tulip Poplar

(Liriodendron tulipifera)

The Historic American Landscape Survey’s Witness Tree Protection Program documented the large tulip poplar located in the slope at the northwest corner of the park.  Casey Trees designated this tree as the second largest tree in the District, and the largest tulip poplar currently surveyed in the city.
